Clean guest rooms as assigned, ensuring the hotel's established standards of cleanliness. Responsible for reporting any maintenance deficiencies and handling guest requests or complaints.

Ensures the confidentiality and security of all guest rooms.

Essential Functions & Physical Requirements

  • Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • Prioritize and organize.
  • Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgement.
  • Follow directions thoroughly.
  • Understand guest’s service needs.
  • Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.
  • Strip and make beds, changes bed linen on a daily basis. Including roll-away, sofa beds and baby cribs.
  • Responsible for following cleaning equipment issued : radio, cleaning supplies, caddie, and vacuum.
  • Dust all furniture, drawers, windows ledges, closets, picture frames.
  • Replenish all required amenities such as linen, terry and supplies in guest rooms.
  • Cleans ashtrays in the patio area and rooms as needed.
  • Attends guest calls requests on a timely manner.
  • Reports maintenance work tickets according to procedures.
  • Reports to Housekeeping office any / and all rooms with DND, PL or
  • Refused services, late services or will call.
  • Reports all Lost and Found items according to department’s procedures.
  • Attends and participates in the 10 minute pre-shift meeting briefings.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to do the following :

  • Ability to speak clearly
  • Close vision, distance vision. Color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Frequent walking, standing and sitting at times
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skill
  • DESIRABLE :
  • High school graduate.
  • High school graduate.
  • Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Fluency in second language, preferably.
  • Previous training in guest relations.
  • Previous experience in hospitality industry, preferably Housekeeping in a market.
  • 1 year prior experience in cleaning hotel guest rooms.
  • Knowledge of proper chemical handling
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT : Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • May be indoor or outdoor
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to heat / cold from the equipment in the spa

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate
  • Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates
  • Ability to cross train in various departments for overall understanding of the operations and provide ultimate guest experience.

    Language skills :

    Ability to communicate and comprehend English language to understand and respond to guest’s requests, and to follow instructions.

    Mathematical skills :

    Must have the ability to read basic Housekeeping Reports.
