Job Purpose : At AXA head-office, acts as an expert member of the AXA Group Accounting Policy team, which is responsible for the correct application of accounting principles used for the publication of the Group financial statements under IFRS :
The Group Accounting Policy team is part of the Planning Budgets Results Central (PBRC) department within the AXA Group Finance department.
Context : The IFRS 17 norm on insurance contracts was issued in May 2017 and applies to annual reporting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2021.
IFRS 17, combined with IFRS 9 on financial instruments, represents the biggest accounting change for insurers in many years.
The consequences of that new standard are not limited to a change in the measurement approach of technical reserves, the timing of P&L recognition and in the presentation of insurance companies’ financial statements.
IFRS 17 requires also important changes in core systems and processes used in financial reporting; in operating models with higher interaction (or convergence) between actuarial and financial resources, in performance measurement and in financial communication.
Once in place it will have also consequences in capital management, product design and investment strategies. Within PBRC, the Group Norms team works closely in collaboration with the IFRS17 program team who is in charge, from a Group perspective, of the monitoring of the implementation of the IFRS17 norm.
The scope of the collaboration covers the aspects related to Finance, Accounting, and Reporting. In this context, the Group Norms team is recruiting an expert manager.
Key Accountabilities : The position includes the assistance to the Head of Group Accounting Policies in the following areas :
office (Central Finance, Group Legal, GroupTax, Group Investments, Investors Relations) and AXA operational entities
