Position Overview

Coordinate, administer and report on various human resource programs, systems and procedures to aid in the attraction, retention and motivation of employees in accordance with policies, procedures and government laws and regulations while promoting a safe, fair, positive work environment.

This position will assist in all areas of Recruitment, Benefits, Learning & Development, Rewards and Recognition and administration of the office as may be assigned by the Director or other HR and L&D Manager(s).

Essential Functions & Physical Requirements

  • Responsible for all aspects related to recruitment; the hiring of associates (i.e. advertisements, job postings, recruiting, interviewing, processing, transfers)
  • Handle all employment applicant records in compliance with state and federal laws
  • Responsible for all internal associate transactions & processes (i.e. promotion, transfer, performance review, termination)
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment practices and procedures
  • Maintains employee and property Human Resource documents, records and files as required by government regulations and Dorchester Collection policies and procedures
  • Provide services to team members in a friendly and caring manner
  • Understand and actively participate in employees relations activities
  • Liase with job agencies and search firms
  • Maintain candidate pool for each position for future need
  • Prepare / monitor Status Change Forms Forms and input / update ADP new hires, terms and daily changes to ensure accurate, up-
  • to-date information is available for payroll and management

  • Track trends and complete analytical reports in an accurate and timely manner
  • Represent the hotel in job career programs together with ADHR and / or HR Manager
  • Maintaining Employee Files,
  • Office Experience - General, Reporting Skills, Verbal Communication, Administrative Writing Skills
  • Performs any other job related duties as required and requested
  • Assists in Implementing human resources programs by providing human resources services,talent acquisition,staffing,employment processing,compensationrecords managementsafety and healthemployee relations and retentionAA / EEO compliancecompleting personnel transactions.
  • Assists with special projects by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information;
  • fulfilling transactions.

  • Assisting with the management of leaves of absences
  • Respond to EDD claims
  • Conduct proper workplace investigations
  • Helps to monitor the organization's culture so that it supports the attainment of the company's goals and promotes employee satisfaction.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods, to reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination are required to operate office equipment.
  • Stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach and twist

  • Lift, carry, push, and / or pull light (10 lbs) to moderate amounts (up to 30 pounds) of weight;
  • Operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
  • The noise level in the work environment is typical of most office environments.
  • OTHER :

    Due to nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotel.

    Qualifications and Desirables

  • 2-3+ years of human resources experience
  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Exceptional communication skills, high level of confidentiality, strong follow through and attention to detail
  • Extremely flexible, proactive, highly organized, and ability to easily shift priorities, multi-task, and handle heave work flow processing
  • Ability to succeed in a fast paced, highly demanding, high volume and dynamic corporate environment
  • Prior working knowledge of HR and payroll software programs such as ADP and Talentsoft
  • Experience with responding to EDD claims and attending hearings
  • Experience with Leave of Absence management
  • Experience Investigating and responding to employee complaints or sensitive employee relations cases
  • Must be knowledgeable in the areas of wage and hour compliance
  • Must be knowledgeable and have experience in recruitment
  • Ability to effectively listen and communicate, create a warm and helpful environment for all employees who come to the office for inquiries or assistance and able to prioritize activities and initiatives within the department
  • Demonstrated ability to support, establish new and effective systems to meet the needs of shared services HR department.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and Power Point
  • English verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred.
