As an Inside Sales Manager your responsibility will be to deliver profitable revenue growth for Laboratory Products Division (LPD) with inside sales across Europe.
This position is responsible for leading business processes and managing the resources associated with the LPD business plan and achievement of it.
Incumbents in this position are accountable to Sales leadership for achieving agreed upon sales and financial targets for the region, ensuring effective sales coverage in their assigned geographic market, coaching and developing essential skill sets, attracting and retaining Inside Sales Representatives to realize growth opportunities available in the assigned market and, providing service to customers consistent with Thermo Fisher Scientific standards and expectations.
Key responsibilities :
Develops a business plan to meet or exceed business goals agreed upon with Sales management for Europe
Directs the tactical implementation of the business plan to meet objectives in Europe including sales to new accounts, successful introduction of new products, and the retention of current customer at an acceptable rate
Through Inside Sales Reps, directs the process of selling LPD products and services to customers and prospects in line with the channel strategy
Regularly monitors customers’ needs and the Company’s product offerings to ensure needs are understood by team members and key departments and, appropriate levels of service and responsiveness are provided to accounts
Contacts and returns calls to customers at all levels, provides information through telephone, e-mails or personal visits as frequently necessary
Manages contracts / quotations within the guidelines by extending competitive pricing as needed to maintain and increase margin
Consistently monitors results of sales process including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales tracking through the use of Salesforce.
com system and other designated IT tools
Regular communication with the country leaders and sales managers to be aligned to the local requirements to grow the LPD business
Collaborates with channel managers to maximize market coverage and penetration
Communicates business objectives and action plans to Region team members and, reports business progress to management via monthly reports
Serves as a role model and coach to Inside Sales Representatives in all aspects of sales process and customer relationship management
Works with Inside Sales Representatives as part of their regular rhythm of coaching and development
Regularly provides oral and written communication to direct reports of successes, failures, best practices to improve the overall operating effectiveness and efficiency of individuals and the entire Regional Team
Collaborates with other functional teams in a matrix structure : Business Unit Managers and Product Managers, Regional and
Global Marketing, Sales Operations and Financial services, Strategic Account Management, Human Resources
Develops and maintains an up to date knowledge of markets, products, and buying practices required to effectively compete in the assigned region
Ensures that comprehensive product and application knowledge is used to successfully conduct consultative and strategic selling presentations
Uses business acumen and analytical skills to work effectively with internal functions, Account Managers, Sales Specialists and customers
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent essential
Progressive commercial business experience in the region
Experience and industry knowledge in Laboratory Equipment / Consumables
Strong leadership track record, to include managing within a matrix environment with the ability to inspire and lead others
Strong coaching and developing skills
Demonstrated commitment to the customer
Ability to build and maintain processes and procedures
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Familiarity with commercial sales and marketing tools to capture and understand the market
Advanced computer skills
Ability to generate and maintain information to provide feedback on performance

Demonstrated excellence in English oral and written communication skills; additional European languages skills a plus
Ability to plan & prioritize multiple tasks and projects
Self-motivated in driving business results
Spend c. 50-60% of time travelling in the region
