Job Location : Baupte Position Purpose The main purpose of this position is to ensure the execution of all production processes on site.

The position holder is responsible for daily execution of production processes for the semi-finished production lines (carrageenan and / or biopolymers) and their different shifts.

Ensures areas of responsibilities meet business / group / plant standards for safety, quality, efficiency and financial performance.

It is in the responsibility of the position holder to measure the performance, identify and execute continuously on improvement opportunities.

Principal Accountabilities Accountability on Safety 15%

  • Ensures direct reports are following the procedures and policies related to occupational health, people and process safety and actively participates to the application of the standards.
  • Enforces a culture of zero injuries and illness
  • Actively participates into accident / incident investigations.
  • Supports and gives input to the safety performance analysis and subsequent improvements.
  • Supports and actively participates into process safety risk assessments.
  • Supports the application of EHS standards in the production area.
  • Supports the local EHS strategy implementation on site.
  • Accountability on Quality 15%

  • Partners with food safety, quality and regulatory (FSQR) experts to determine the most effective approach for implementing and monitoring corporate food safety policies and procedureSupports and actively participates into the definition of hygienic standards
  • Support and actively participates in customer audits, audits by authorities, governmental audits, internal and external FSQR audits as well as in customer management
  • Accountability on Performance Improvement 20%

  • Responsible for the weekly IDEX meeting.
  • Responsible for performance improvement excecution in all production lines and actively participates into the site performance improvement management.
  • Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly KPI performance analysis and tracking for the production area and for area KPI reporting.
  • Champions a culture that promotes operational excellence. Recommends process improvements, and supports business case for new investments / innovations.
  • Accountability on Effectiveness 30%

  • Develops / supports business / plant customer relationship by meeting business objectives and by understanding how operational performance impacts internal / external customers.
  • Gives input into the weekly frozen semi-finished production planning.
  • Takes the leadership in standard work improvement
  • Responsible for leadership standard work enabling the shift supervisors to execute on the responsibilities like production sequencing, standard work execution, daily staffing.
  • Responsible for closing gaps from all audits related to the semi-finished production areas.
  • Gives input to the maintenance performance analysis.
  • Actively participates into the maintenance shutdown planning.
  • Aligns and implements common reliability processes and ensures the reliability culture is foundational to operations (i.
  • e. deploys common reliability processes and metrics; focus on eliminating the root-cause of reliability problems, etc).

  • Oversees production outcomes, quality and quantity; partners with site manager, production supervisor, logistic and production planning to ensure ability to meet customer specifications and timeline.
  • Responsible for preparing and managing the production budget (monthly and anually).
  • Defines operational requirements and provide support to PD & build engineering for new projects. Being the key driver of the Management of Change process in production.
  • Supports the CAPEX effectiveness by giving input into the prioritization of CAPEX and improvement project resource planning.
  • Accountability on people management 20%

  • Direct supervision of shift supervisors, production maintenance coordinator and production assistant (in future also : reliability engineer, process development engineer).
  • Provides coaching to direct reports including coaching of Cargill’s core values and guiding principles and talent development.
  • Responsible for the production people resource planning and actively participates into the people planning process, including workforce planning and people selection.
  • Supports the people development process, including talent management and succession planning.
  • Supports and actively participates into the people management process for the production , including the engagement program, people recognition and coaching.
  • Actively participates to the managerial admin process, including rewarding and time management.
  • Responsible for implementing training programs and monitors employee performance records on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for developing strong leaders and a more diverse workforce by seeking multiple approaches to source / attract diverse talent.
  • Required

  • Engineering degree (MSc) or equivalent (e.g. chemical or biological process engineering)
  • Lean / SixSigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • At least 5 years production leadership experience inside / outside Cargill
  • Experience in leading change
  • The ability to work effectively with cross-cultural and functional teams
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Fluent French and English language ability
  • A resilient, well organized personality with a high amount of self initiative and an independent, target oriented style of working
  • Preferred

  • Engineering degree (MSc) or equivalent (e.g. chemical or biological process engineering)
  • Lean / SixSigma Black Belt certification
  • Food and pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Working in cross-functional teams
  • Leading change, change management
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex operational, engineering and business activities
