Position Overview

DevelopAccount mining strategies for the Life Sciences clients of Cognizant andworking closely with the Head of the Life Sciences Industry to win largeoutsourcing projects using ouronsite / offshore model

Job Functions

  • Develop account penetrationstrategies, develop client relationship, understand their pain points,challenges, and goals
  • Manage client expectations,provide updates to the senior management, participate in steering reviewmeetings
  • Provide thought leadership inmanaging large projects
  • Ability to position thevalue proposition to deliver highest value to the customer
  • Buildingrelationships across various levels in the Client organization and should beable to develop exec level relationships in particular.
  • Managingrelationships, new business and delivery aspects of the engagement
  • Healthof the overall engagement
  • Overallcustomer satisfaction within Client organisation.
  • EnsuringProject delivery oversight; Carry out review of project plans, schedules anddeliverables with offshore Delivery manager / Project Leader throughteleconferences.
  • Proactivelydefining, driving and tracking KPIs that drive value for customer, vis-à-vistheir sourcing from Cognizant
  • Mentoringproject managers / leads & team members from Cognizant, working onsite, toensure that they are delivering a professional, high quality, high value &responsive service experience to the client
  • Primaryescalation point for Client for any project issues and shows the potential tomanage projects (if required)
  • Identifyingstrategic initiatives that help Client’s business achieve their goals.
  • Ensuringclear and timely communication and reporting of status of various projects tointernal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify & mitigate risks proactively


  • Proven account managementexperience in the Life Sciences Industry
  • Proven track record ingrowing accounts from existing business
  • Customer Orientated
  • Aspecialist typically with a strong IT services / MBA background
  • Proven experience in the IT industry, a significant amount of whichshould have been spent on managing customer relationships and farming’ clientaccounts.
  • Theperson should be strongly conversant in Project Management best practices,Solution architecture and Business Processes in the Life Sciences domain.
  • APrince 2 or equivalent certification would be a plus.

  • Shouldhave experience in delivering IT services in an onsite-offshore model.
