  • Engage others, promote, and participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives, focusing on continuous improvement.
  • This position is required to assure compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including knowledge of all standards, government occupational health and environmental regulations and statuses related to the site.)

  • Responsible for following the policies and procedures, maintaining the finance processes and, supporting the overarching finance objectives.
  • Consolidates and analyzes financial data, taking into account company’s goals and financial standing. Inclusive of tracking key operational objectives, metrics, and strategic initiatives.
  • Summarizes results demonstrating financial status and risks, in a consistent format that can be used by business leaders.
  • Supports periodic financial reporting requirements such as : External Audits (Interim and Year-end), Internal Audits, R&D Tax Credit filing, Impairment Analysis, and other ad-
  • hoc reporting as needed.

  • Manages capital expenditures for R&D department, including analysis of investment requests, tracking expenditures, budgeting and forecasting, and maintain internal control of assets.
  • Provides key support for R&D budget process through maintenance of project-based budget templates, collection and integration of budget inputs into project based reporting tools and the corporate budget system (Hyperion), and reconciliation and analysis of data inputs.
  • Maintains the month-end close process for all R&D functional departments, including journal entries, account reconciliations, data consolidation, financial reporting and variance analysis.
  • Demonstrates project based accounting fundamentals required to establish labor rates that effectively absorb labor costs into projects, manages MS Access database and other reporting tools that consolidate project spend across multiple systems, and reconciles project based reports back to General Ledger balances.
  • Provides decision support through advanced understanding of project-based accounting, budgeting and financial reporting and routinely delivers high quality data analysis to managers of major programs and functional departments.
  • This role assists with management of all Research and Development budgeting and financial reporting and reports directly to the Director of Finance, Global Research and Development.

    Additionally, this role develops analysis of economic indicators in order to prepare forecasts and analyze company’s short, medium, long term position.

    Required Skills and Experience

  • University Degree (BA degree) required.Bachelors’ Degree required in related field such as accounting / Finance.Minimum of 2-
  • 4 years experience required. MBA, CMA or CPA working towards preferred. IFRS, GAAP, ERP system, and Hyperion working knowledge.

    Proficiency in wide application of technical principles, theories, concepts, and techniques in financial analysis, forecasting, and data reporting structures.

    Advanced proficiency required in MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word, Powerpoint, Oracle, Hyperion and various financial software.

  • Advanced accounting, analysis and research skills and successful navigation of managing conflict while maintaining and activating progress.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and changing priorities, anticipate and plan for contingencies and meet deadlines.Excellent communication skills, both written and oral with ability to influence, consult, and make recommendations to internal and external partners, including leadership team.

    Able to maintain confidentiality and exercise highest integrity.Possesses a complete understanding and wide application of financial principles, concepts and techniques in the field as well as knowledge of other disciplines.

    Understands end-to-end business processes and actively listens to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external

    partners.Follows established standards and gathers specific needs or requirements to apply knowledge working both independently and as part of a team.

    May coordinate work streams on behalf of finance leadership but does not provide direction nor have direct reports.Provides financial solutions for a wide range of problems with varying complexity.

    Role requires compliance with all applicable business practices and documented procedures and legal requirements.
