Alstom Center of Excellence Interiors provides a global expertise in the design & supply of interiors for railway business.

It is localized nearby Valenciennes site, a plant specialized in the design, development, manufacturing and testing of Rolling Stocks (1200 pers.)

The Role :

  • Reporting to the Engineering Manager of the Center of Excellence Interiors, based in Alstom Petite-Foret site.
  • Managing a team of Lead Engineers and CAD Engineers and continuously developing them.
  • Is the Technical responsible of one or several complete projects for different Alstom sites, managing the Technical Development of trains’
  • interiors solutions.

  • Supporting Lead engineers in their Technical relationship with the customer and the suppliers.
  • Working in a Multi-cultural and multi métiers environment.
  • The Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage the Engineering Planning and budget of his / her projects.
  • Validate the concepts and definitions of the technical solutions by making sure that the Design Reviews are efficiently held.
  • Ensure the quality and on time delivery of the Engineering deliverables.
  • Promote Design to cost, Design to planning, Design to quality and Design to manufacturing solutions.
  • Is a Technical referent within the Center of Excellence Interiors.
  • The Performance Measurements :

  • Design Reviews Go on Time.
  • Technical Deliverables On Time In Full.
  • Number of modification after Design Freeze.
  • Engineering expenses within the allocated budget.
  • Manage the competencies growth of Lead Engineer.
  • The Job Specifications :

  • Minimum 7-8 years’ experience in Interiors in Railway industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge in passenger interiors or cab fitting or front end.
  • Experience in project management within Railway industry with strong Time Management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of interiors parts costs.
  • Experience in engineering team management.
  • Mechanical engineering background.
  • Able to work in an international, multi-sites and matrix organization.
  • Good Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • English written and spoken mandatory.
