Technical Product Owner

Amadeus has created the Amadeus Hotel Platform (AHP) to provide an integrated Central Reservation System (CRS) and Property Management System (PMS) solution to support large multi-national hotel chains.

Our team is part of the Enterprise Program Delivery department and our role is to manage data population, management, and migration.

Our teams supporting our first CRS customer IHG have developed a robust set of tools and processes to migrate hotels to our CRS and PMS solutions.

In order to continue our momentum, we are now focused on expanding the team to build reusable, efficient solutions, as well as support and improve the complex activities that accompany the delivery of the platform.

We are looking for a technical product owner for AHP to help drive repeatable, predictable and safe data migration and set up for our CRS and PMS solutions.

As a technical product owner, you'll be in control of the incremental changes and long-term vision of our Hotel Migration Platform Component, which orchestrate massive data injection in our system.

In this role you’ll / Your main responsibilities

  • Design technical and functional solutions in a cross-functional environment (interacting with multiple components) on a distributed system (interacting with different clouds or data centers)
  • Collect, formalize and prioritize functional and technical requirements (both customer and internal ones). Provide high level cost estimates for requirements.
  • Maintain and publish a roadmap. Participate to the various Scrum ceremonies, as product owner of the agile team.

  • Represent our team / component within a larger cross-components delivery factory. Handle risks and escalations both internally and with customer.
  • Maintain specifications of the component
  • Conduct some recruitment interviews for open positions in the team. Supervise and coach junior resources of the team.
  • Popularize and advertise our component to the broader R&D and implementation teams, within the whole company. Stay tuned to high level developments in the company to avoid redundant components being created.
  • Design, test and maintain ad hoc scripts, using Python
  • Assist with the technical and functional knowledge transfer to customers, partners, and internal support teams
  • Carry out tasks related to product initial setup
  • Track data for KPIs to measure team effort, and contribute to resource capacity planning
  • About the ideal candidate

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in engineering or computer science) or equivalent work experience
  • 5-10 years of experience in IT Domain overall
  • Experience in technical development and scripting
  • Experience with Webservices implementation
  • Experience as product owner or product manager
  • SQL, JSON, XML, at least one programming language, Git or similar version control system
  • Fluent English
