What you’ll be doing...
Planning, design, configuration, implementation, operation and optimisation of UC technologies. This will include remote or on-
site : Infrastructure strategy creation and roadmap developmentInfrastructure design and systems sizingMigration planning, risk assessments, impact analysisImplementation, configuration, testing and transformationPre and post deployment supportDetailed troubleshooting and problem resolutionPerformance engineering and optimisationKnowledge transfer and mentoringTest plan / strategy developmentNetwork auditing / sizing
Creation and development of documentation, including detailed technical documentation and appropriate policies and procedures for assigned projects.
Assess customer requirements for data and voice technology initiatives and recommend appropriate solutions.
Assist with IT disaster recovery planning and testing for telecommunications and UC technologies including data and system backup and restore functions.
Help to provide a high quality, high availability computing and telephony / UC environment.
Assist in the optimisation of technology in telecommunications / UC environment for the client's IT Services department.
Maintain knowledge of existing network and applications, including new products and technologies, relating to telephony and UC products
Providing technical consulting expertise to internal project teams and customers.
Sharing knowledge and experience through formal and informal knowledge management initiatives
Proactively maintain knowledge / awareness of existing network and applications, including new products and technologies, relating to both Cisco / Microsoft / Oracle and other UC products
What we’re looking for...
You'll have a demonstrable track record in consulting and delivering Enterprise and / or Telco grade UC solutions from opportunity identification through to final project closure.
The role requires strong technical and communication skills with significant hands-on design, delivery and transformation experience in : UCC, IPT, VoIP, IM&P, collaboration tools, audio / video / web conferencing, voice gateways, SIP / TDM trunking, SBCs, federation, IP, routing and switching and contact centres.
You'll need to have :
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Relevant work experience.

Experience in design / configuration of SIP trunking, SBCs, voice gateways and routing / switching solutions.
Skilled in designing, installing, configuring, administering, and troubleshooting advanced SBC solutions (based on Oracle / Acme Packet and Sonus products) in single and High Availability environments.
Manufacturer accreditations are also desirable, in particular : Cisco - CCIE, CCNP, CCNA;Microsoft - MCSE;Oracle - Session Border Controller Certified Implementation Specialist
This role would suit someone experienced in detailed hands on technical design and delivery and looking to advance their consulting skills and capabilities, leading consulting engagements and team installations while still maintaining detailed practical hands-
on delivery experience.
Ability to be proactive when dealing with customer issues, have excellent customer facing and service skills, a flexible attitude and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, and have strong communication skills especially when communicating with a globally dispersed team.
Five (5) or more years of increased design, delivery and transformation responsibility in an IPT / UC environment.
Demonstrable experience in in design, implementing, transforming, troubleshooting, testing and supporting UC technologies including : IPT, VoIP, IM and Presence, collaboration tools, audio / video / web conferencing, SBCs, voice gateways, SIP / TDM trunking, IP, routing and switching,
Demonstrable expertise and experience with one or more leading manufacturer’s UC products and adjunct applications (Cisco, Microsoft, Oracle, Sonus, Avaya, Unify)
Detailed knowledge and understanding of protocols (SIP, H.323, QSIG, SCCP, etc.) and codec’s (G.722, G.711, G.729, H.264 and Microsoft Real-
time adaptive codec's (RTC)).
Experience in implementing SBCs, integration gateways and applications.
Experience in voice / video / data networking, telephony IPPBX management and voice applications.
Experience in implementing and supporting other voice technologies including contact centre, IVR, predictive dialler, call recording and CTI technologies.
Demonstrable experience in legacy telephony (PSTN, TDM, PRI, Key Systems, TDM PBX and C7).
Analytical consultative and methodical support skills and the ability to lead users and staff through business requirements and delivering business and technical solutions.
Demonstrable experience in the identifying and maintaining the voice dependencies of local and wide-area networks.
Large enterprise, high availability design skills.
Broad and deep experience-based knowledge of UC gained through genuine involvement in the scoping, design and implementation of multiple vendor solutions on large scale, complex, multi-
technology projects for enterprise customers.
In addition to understanding UC technologies through genuine project delivery experience, candidates should be able to articulate the business benefits as well as the technical benefits and be able to prioritise these benefits amidst other decisions and options facing Verizon customers.
Ability to express yourself well in writing, as well as demonstrating proficiency in presentations along with good consultative, workshop and facilitation skills.
Ability to engage effectively with a wide variety of individuals, both within a project team, and especially with the customer at all levels of seniority.
Demonstrate a proven willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues. Experience of project management tools and methodologies is desirable and demonstrated ability to be self-driven and organised.
