Pacific and in the US. It employs 1,300 people around the world.
Within the RISK department, Operational & Transversal Risk (OTR) has the mission to identify, evaluate and mitigate operational risk, ensure efficient processes & continuous improvement culture.
WHAT WILL BE YOUR ROLE Role
You will focus on a specific scope of GEM while keeping the general overview of the full organization. Using different operational risk management tools available, it will be your responsibility to make sure an accurate view of the Operational Risks is maintained and that a close follow-
up of the actions to be taken is ensured by sharing your advice and expertise. You will be empowered to work closely with many stakeholders throughout the organization to identify and proactively manage together the different operational risks.
In the context of Business Continuity Planning you will also actively contribute to its maintenance and implementation.
OTR is mandated to perform the following objectives :
Within GEM, Operational Risk Events (ORE) and process improvement are raised to OTR for further analysis and reporting. This aggregated view of all operational risks and processes processed by standardized methodologies provides an in depth overview of the material deficiencies leading to concrete actions to be taken by GEM management for improvement of the organization.
Also more proactive tools are developed by OTR to take a more ex-ante approach on Operational Risk (e.g. early warning signals, risk self-
assessment etc). In addition OTR ensures that a robust Business Continuity Plan is implemented and allow continuity of critical processes during crisis.
As OTR member, you will be a valuable contributor to the overall GEM objective to further simplify the way of working, reduce the operational risks encountered and ensure continuity of operations
OTR is one of the few functions with GEM that provides a full transversal view of the organization. You will be building up a strong GEM network within 2 or 3 years potentially opening up possibilities in functions of your interests.
As operational risk management is ultimately the first line manager responsibility, your acquired expertise will be welcomed in almost all departments of GEM.
OTR reports directly to the Chief Risk officer of GEM.
