As an experienced (5+ years) Project Director you will, in first instance and for a period of minimum 1,5 year, bear the full end responsibility and accountability for the delivery of a major TMS (Transport management system) related project for one of the main actors in the French Retail market.
You will have to drive, challenge & coordinate all internal stakeholders within our own organization (Implementation & B2B Integration teams, Sales, Product management and Product Development (dotted line for the last 2)).
But, as Project Director, you will also act as our main person of contact towards our client.
Hence, you own the end responsibility for both internal as external matters, not only at strategic but also at operational level
Your experience and expertise to drive both audiences and your negotiation skills are key to the success of this important project and will be your corner stones to guaranteeing a cost effective and timely project delivery
Drive & coordinate an internal team of mixed profiles of 10 to 20 people over a period of 18 months
Set goals, targets, timelines, KPI’s, processes & tools (if needed)
Be the main SPOC (Single Person of Contact) to the client and its main stakeholders
Guarantee timely, qualitative delivery of the project in a most cost-effective way
Report to the Executive Sponsor of the project and to the Head of Project Implementation
Chair internal & external Steering Committee meetings
Being fluent (native) in French and in English (written and spoken). Additional language skills are a plus.
A proven experience as Project Director, preferably in the Retail industry or in the Supply Chain / Logistics for the Retail Industry
Strong Leadership across segments : ability to lead your internal team as well as manage client’s expectations and needs.
You also act as an Inspirer for your team
Strong negotiation skills : such skills are required to manage internal teams as well as the client. You will seek to resolve conflicts by finding the win-win scenarios for everyone
Excellent scheduler / planner : Excellent planning is key for this project as it requires to work with many internal and external stakeholders and implies many / various targets and tasks
Cost control capabilities : Cost management is a critical topic such project. You need to show that you can deliver your project within the cost constraints and by managing the project finances intelligently.
Risk management : Being able to control risk (as far as you can) is a sign that you are on top of your project. Project sponsors hate surprises and good risk management is one way that you can manage that.
Critical thinking : it is core to being able to make good decisions. You have to weigh up the pros and cons of solutions to problems before choosing the right way forward
Great communication skills : find the right format, the right content, the right channel to communicate sufficiently with internal and external stakeholders
Coaching : You will mainly work with virtual teams; it is important that you are good at managing in a matrixed environment, but also that you are good at leading and coaching in ambiguous situations.
Understand & drive Quality management : Quality management ensures that you deliver a product that is fit for purpose, which is often overlooked or underestimated in a project
Analytical, process oriented, accurate, KPI & performance driven with a very good commercial feeling
Last but not least : THE right (positive) mindset and a real sense of humor which will be appreciated by all and which will help in many cases
