Summary

Provides external client-facing consulting services within a technology-focused practice (e.g. Data / Database, Security, Network, Product, Technical Architecture).

Additionally, serves as a first-line people manager and coach to assigned consultants within the practice. Ensures that personal utilization and revenue goals are met.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provides external client-facing consulting services within a technology-focused practice (e.g. Data / Database, Security, Network, Product, Technical Architecture).
  • Demonstrates specialization in functional or technical discipline while designing and delivering solutions to address client needs across domains of change.
  • Supports staff development through mentoring and coaching of other consultants and the creation and development of intellectual capital.
  • Meets personal utilization and revenue goals through strong delivery ability and relevant skillsets.
  • Interacts with confidence and ease when interacting with middle- and senior-level managers (client and company); uses complex strategies like indirect influence to build consensus and support.
  • Assists sales staff in qualifying leads and generating proposals.
  • Contributes to growing the business by identifying new business opportunities in the practice area and selling the organization's capabilities in various markets.
  • Communicates in formal presentation settings including proposal orals, client workshops and regional internal events; develops proposal sections, methodology work products and formal written deliverables covering area(s) of expertise.
  • Assists in the selection and hiring of employees. Trains, motivates and evaluates employees to enhance staff performance and develop employees.
  • Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Motivates and rewards employees including providing salary increases, bonuses and promotions within allocated budgets and company guidelines.

    Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, information technology or related field preferred
  • Six or more years of industry or client relationship experience
  • Three or more years of relevant consulting experience included
  • Two or more years of leadership experience
  • Experience working with concepts, practices, and procedures in area of responsibility
  • Other Qualifications

  • Good communication and consulting skills
  • Leadership skills to coach and guide less experienced personnel
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment
  • Ability to use own judgment and take initiative in problem resolution
  • Ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal confidently with complex business and / or technical problems
  • Ability to lead and work in a team environment
  • Ability to devise creative business and / or technical solutions
  • Willingness to travel
