Job Description Role This R&D position offers the candidate a technical leadership role in the area of product development.

The role will be focused on Snacking and Snack Nut innovation projects within our Beverages and Snacking BU. This individual will have the ability to create, influence and develop new products from idea to commercialization.

This candidate should have a proven record of executing work plans and driving for results. This includes basic understanding of the business needs, designing and executing tests, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, documenting, communicating results, and commercializing products.

Proven communication and teamwork skills are essential in this role, which operates in a cross-functional environment. The candidate must also have a strong technical background and be able to apply prior learning or scientific principles to new situations.

This position requires an individual to manage multiple assignments / tasks concurrently and exhibiting a collaborative mindset and applying innovative solutions are a must.

Key Components of the role Possess strong technical functional skills in snacking products (ideal candidate would have snack nut product or processing experience, but other snacking backgrounds would be considered) Execute research, prototyping, testing, trialing, qualification and commercialization in laboratory, pilot facilities and production environments Adapt and apply scientific principles to new situations / products and have a moderate degree of autonomy Be able to drive all aspects of product development from the fuzzy front end of innovation to full commercialization Collaborate with business teams to develop concepts and convert them to bench top prototypes Conduct bench top, pilot plant, and plant trials to explore and optimize formulation and processes during scale up Support / lead project teams as a technical resource Qualifications : BS / MS / PhD in Food Science, Chemical Engineering or related fields 3-5 years of experience in a Technical Function (which can include all graduate and / or internship work) Solid understanding of food chemistry, analytical testing, formulations and processing used in food manufacturing Understanding of ingredient functionality and interrelationship of ingredients, process, and packaging Excellent communication, influencing, project management and problem solving skills Ability to lead, coach and motivate others Manage multiple assignments / tasks concurrently with the ability to question the priority of work Strong understanding of Design of Experiments Willingness to travel 30% Location(s)Glenview R&D Center Equal Opportunity Employer minorities / females / veterans / individuals with disabilities / sexual orientation / gender identity
