Establishing a presence in Europe over 17 years ago, the European business now has some 800 staff in a broad range of professional services including : Restructuring, Insolvency, Lender Advisory, Transaction Services, Tax Advisory and Valuations in addition to Performance Improvement.
A&M's European Restructuring practice has focused on big ticket company side financial restructuring and CRO appointments and has delivered on some of the largest European restructuring cases such as Abengoa, Edcon and Isolux.
Our pan European Restructuring practice is expanding and therefore, an opportunity exists for us to strengthen the team at the Managing Director level in France.
Reporting to the European Head of Restructuring at Alvarez & Marsal, the successful appointee will have responsibility for continuing to build the profile and reputation of A&M as a leading global professional services firm that delivers critical assistance to companies that are under-performing or experiencing a full-blown liquidity crisis.
Working directly with company management, Alvarez & Marsal helps stabilise financial and operational performance by developing and implementing comprehensive profitability and working capital improvements.
Alvarez & Marsal's involvement reassures creditors that the company is taking important steps to address its problems and maximise its value.
We work with leading Global private equity houses and their portfolio companies on an international basis as well as high profile investment banks and multi-national companies.
The successful appointee will be an expert in selling and delivering assignments.
The successful candidate will have a highly developed network across Corporate and Private Equity companies, in addition to business leaders more broadly, and be seen as a trusted advisor on how businesses can most effectively improve the returns on their investments.
They will be skilled in selling and delivering assignments to their established network.
Our MD will also be a high-energy and successful leader with extensive knowledge and experience in Operational Restructuring and Turnaround gained at a major advisory firm.
They may have held a CRO or a similar senior line management role within a business of significant size, scale and complexity in addition to Advisory.
A breadth of sector experience is helpful.
In addition, the successful candidate will also possess excellent negotiating skills, ideally gained in an operational restructuring environment, whether in the context of negotiating with banks or dealing with management teams or trade unions, commercial / supplier agreements or closure of an entity / divestment of assets.
Fluency in or native French is essential and additional European languages are advantageous including English.
