Under the responsibility of the General Manager, the Commercial Director guides the commercial objectives, defines their implementation and ensures the execution of the action plan in accordance with the commercial strategy of the hotel and Marriott.

OPERATIONAL RESPONSABILITIES

  • Establishes activity forecasts and operating objectives to be achieved in his department. Controls and analyzes the discrepancies between expectations and results and has its employees apply the necessary corrective measures
  • Defines with the General Management the Commercial budget
  • Respects the commercial objectives defined in collaboration with the General Management
  • Negotiates contracts with different types of customers (companies, individuals, travel agencies, etc.)
  • Performs research work, carries out the necessary market studies, and contributes to the development of new products and formulas, in collaboration with his team
  • Build customer loyalty through planned commercial actions (mailings, invitations, etc.)
  • Analyze the competition (price, products, quality, )
  • Promote the hotel externally (advertising, professional meetings, etc.)
  • Analyze with the General Management the results of the hotel (occupancy rate, average price, customer segments)
  • Define the pricing policy to be applied in collaboration with General Management and Revenue.
  • Keeps abreast of innovations likely to improve the profitability of his department
  • Respects the standards of reception, quality, service defined by the group, and the fact applied by its employees
  • Ensures the constant quality of the products and services offered by its service
  • Masters the various professional relationships related to the exercise of his function (customers, suppliers, etc.)
  • Regularly check inventories with his team (brochures, flyers, and commercial documents for the entire hotel
  • Takes into account changes in national and international tourist activity and competition.
  • Develop and implement new programs in accordance with market trends and specific local events
  • MANAGERIAL RESPONSABILITIES :

  • Assists its employees if necessary in the management of their activity and helps them to position themselves in the structure of the hotel
  • Sets the work objectives of his team
  • Plans, organizes and controls the general activity of his team
  • Periodically evaluates the performance of his team and takes the necessary decisions to improve the quality of the services provided by his collaborators
  • Identifies the training needs of staff in his department
  • Keeps the Human Resources Department informed of the expectations of its employees (training, promotion, transfer, etc.
  • and facilitates their development within the group

  • Interface between the General Management and his team in terms of communication
  • Ensures the liaison between the members of his team
  • Organize and lead work meetings
  • PROFILE AND COMPETENCIES :

  • Master the organizational techniques of a service (planning, control, procedures, etc.)
  • Be available (for customers and staff)
  • Master the management of his time in relation to the responsibilities incumbent on him (commercial relations, organization of services, administrative work, etc.)
  • Have an excellent representation of the Le Méridien brand image
  • Have a great sense of communication and excellent contact
  • Possess managerial qualities and a certain authority
  • Know the desired hotel culture
  • Mastery of French and English minimum, a third would be a plus
  • Have similar experience in the luxury hotel industry or a large hotel group
  • Be geographically mobile and available for travel
