The Healthcare Business Unit of Amcor Flexibles EMEA utilises sophisticated extrusion, coating, printing, laminating and specialist conversion technologies across a number of European sites, supplying a range of flexible packaging products to a prestigious, blue-
chip, medical customer base.
AF Selestat site is specialized in the technology of extrusion and lamination for the several market as the pharma sector but also in the food & capsules packaging.
The purpose of the role is to deliver the Operational performance requested to achieve the annual business plan (the budget) and to enable the sales growth and the achievement of the cost-
out agenda by proposing and rolling out the investment plan, by supporting the product development strategy, by improving the existing processes in the area of responsibility.

The plant has a turnover of 135€M and employs 450 people

The nature of the role involves applying leadership and management skills in the areas of Operations to ensure the delivery of the production objectives and the release of the new processes and new products, in a cost effective and service driven approach.
The scope of the role includes Production, Maintenance, Specific Projects in close co-operation with the other Operational functions of the plant (OHSE, Quality, Supply-
chain, Process Development..)
The role includes a commitment to drive a zero-accident mentality and a full respect of the legal and OHSE Amcor rules.
The Operations Manager is part of the Plant steering Committee.

Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations in the area of responsibilities
Is responsible for the Operations KPI : propose the annual Operations objectives for the plant to reach the plant commercial objectives and ensure a high customer satisfaction in term of lead-
time and quality, lead to deliver the objectives
Maintain all assets in good conditions
Contribute to development activities to deliver the processes and the products that respond to the identified market needs and support the cost-out agenda
Prepare the capital expenditure cases to invest in the new technologies that respond to identified market needs and support cost competitiveness
Continuously challenge the Operation costs, processes and capabilities in order to get the maximum in term of cost, service and flexibility
Determine staffing requirements. Hire, train, and flex co-workers as needed
Develop staff to maximize potential. Set employee goals and objectives. Monitor staff performance including performance reviews.
Recognize, coach and develop the team
Lead projects in the area of responsibilities
Promote company's mission and values internally
Qualifications / Requirements
Formal Qualifications And Experience
University degree in plastics, technology or engineering.
Minimum 5 years in progressive roles in a management role, in a manufacturing environment
Experience in mechanical industry is desirable for the role.
Experience in (flexible) packaging (Extrusion, Co-Extrusion, Printing, slitting) is an advantage
Experience in a medical, pharma, food company is an advantage
Proven track record of solid achievement against manufacturing KPIs in a leadership role.
Experience of successfully managing significant change / transformation projects within a manufacturing environment.
Experience working with Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing tools and processes
Verbal and written communication skills in French & English
