Position Description :
The position requires acquiring hands-on expertise on the CAMECA SIMS instruments to achieve a level of proficiency to develop new applications recipes and capabilities that increase the opportunity funnel for Cameca in the semiconductor market.
The successful candidate will utilize Cameca dynamic SIMS tools to help solve complex material and device problems in order to advance applications development and meet the customer needs of the future.
The scientist will be expected to travel to customer sites, for new equipment installation, qualification, demonstrations, and training.
Technical documentation skills are necessary to create user guides and high clarity powerpoint presentations to explain detailed technical content to a broad audience ranging from customer engineers to senior management, both internally and externally.
This person will have input to the market managers and product managers on the development of new products and on continuous improvement for current products.
This a is a heavily cross-functional role requiring significant collaboration with R&D, global product support and manufacturing.
This position has a strong technical orientation and prefers candidates with experience in dynamic SIMS and / or static SIMS.
Job Duties :
New applications recipe development on a variety of materials to increase sales funnel from semiconductor companies
Produce applications and technology notes targeted at customers
Run demos, analyse data and generate reports, including presentation to customers
Travel to customer sites for technical support on instrument
Input for definition of applications development strategy and product roadmap
Devise and implement tactical activities to expand market adoption
Input for product system specification documents (product description and guaranteed performance)
Creation of technical documentation including, but not limited to, user guides, conference papers and presentations, application notes, whitepapers etc :
Applications expertise to train sales, product support, manufacturing, field teams and customer engineers
Assist in the creation of requirements documents for product enhancements
Testing and validation of new features for hardware and software
Installed base support, and creation of continuous improvement requests
Perform advanced acceptance tests during factory acceptance and / or on-site acceptance test after installation
Position Requirements :
Required Education and Experience :
PhD in materials science, physics or related field plus three years work experience minimum
Experience in dynamic SIMS and / or static SIMS. Experienced in hands-on metrology, preferably using ion beams or electron beams
Familiarity with UHV systems
Basic understanding of a variety of semiconductor materials and devices
Design of experiments knowledge and strong, proven data analysis skills are a must
Demonstrated familiarity with structured problem solving or model-based problem solving approaches
Demonstrated leadership in one or more areas of team, task or project lead responsibilities
Very good technical writing, interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience in semiconductor materials and device processing is a plus
Near-native fluency to communicate (both written and oral) in French and English
