At the AUBAGNE site we are looking for a Category Manager for the category Extrusion Plastics at the next possible date.
In this role, you will strategically manage and further develop globally your category / categories and build up a valuable network of global suppliers.
You are responsible for preparing and implementing the global strategy for selected categories based on business needs (as defined by procurement engineers), thorough market analyses (including PESTLE and SWOT analysis) and supply chain cost modelling.
You will prepare and roll out complex RFx, negotiate and implement contracts, effectively manage the full contract life-cycle.
You will also act as Supplier Account Manager and therefore be the single point of contact internally and externally for issue resolution, supplier development, relationship management and to coordinate and lead Business Performance Reviews.
Your tasks include, but are not limited to : continuous data management, design and monitoring of KPIs, TCO optimization, supply issues resolution, pro-active risk management, best practice sharing.
While you will significantly reduce the current supplier base, you will search, develop and implement suppliers for global coverage and with selected supplier define ad hoc partnership activities.
You will act as first point of contact for stakeholders belonging to different areas such as Procurement Engineering, Legal, Quality, Finance and suppliers across multiple countries
Successful completed university degree in the field of mechanical engineering or business administration
You have about 10 years of relevant professional experience in Category Management Contracting & Procurement in a global business environment in particular in particular in the field of extrusion plastics (e.g. tubes and films).
Experience and understanding of working within quality management systems ISO 9k
Experience to work on a low volume and high complexity environment.
Solid track record in delivering substantial sustainable value, beyond mere savings, through cost and process optimization, collaboration, innovation and new ways of working, also applying unconventional but ethical approaches
Obviously you have developed and successfully implemented purchasing strategies on a global level
You are able to manage at once different tasks, prioritize and always deliver qualitative work on time
You enjoy to work under little supervision, in global teams, virtually
A leadership personality with strong communication and negotiation skills, rounded off by holistic, proactive, forward-looking global mindset.
Willingness to travel globally (approx. 20%)
Previous hands on experience in change management and in working in a transformation environment will be considered a strong plus
Knowledge of SCM and as well as MS-Office
Fluent English and French, German is a plus
