In this role, part of the Field Engineering team, you will partner with a team of experienced Account Executives in delivering technical and product support in driving new business.

You will be responsible for owning the technical relationship during a sales cycle which includes : - assessing and analysing business needs from both technical and functional clients -

delivering value-focused product demonstrations - leading Proof-Of-Concept implementations from concept through execution -

properly educating prospects on Algolia implementations (architecture, patterns, ) and product features - providing feedback to the product team, and inform other teams internally on product and technical gaps The Field Engineering team at Algolia is made up of seasoned software architects, entrepreneurs and developers who take direct responsibility for customer success, including the design of their software, deployment and operations.

As a Senior Pre-Sales Engineer, you’ll be a trusted advisor to a wide range of users from startups to the world’s largest enterprise organizations.

Collaborating closely with Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Product, the team is critical at tying the product capabilities of Algolia to the business value of our customers and prospects.

The tasks are varied and no two days are alike. Our priorities are determined by a single question : will this help our customers be more successful?

You will be the first Senior Pre-Sales Engineer located in Paris to focus on South Europe, impacting a massive growth opportunity for our European expansion.

YOU MIGHT BE A FIT IF YOU HAVE :

  • 2+ years of experience in a SaaS Sales Engineering or related role OR 3+ years of experience in any role that combines software development with client facing responsibilities (freelancing / self employed)
  • Working knowledge and ability to code with one or more web or mobile technologies (modern Javascript, Python, Ruby, iOS, Android, etc)
  • Can navigate a customer interaction that is both technical and business focused with a variety of stakeholders, up to and including the C-level
  • Can deliver a product demonstration that highlights customer value and outcomes while including critical feature capabilities and differentiators
  • Fluent in Spanish & English
  • Willingness to travel 30-40% of the time in South Europe
  • NICE TO HAVE :

  • B.A. / B.S. or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to thrive in an unstructured and dynamic environment
  • Experience in advising on Search, Personalisation, or Analytics solutions
  • Experience with scalable and highly available distributed systems
  • Experience designing mockups / wireframes / UX using tools like SketchApp
