This job position will take place in the context of the Ofast3D Inria exporatory action.The goal of Ofast3D is to increase the production capacity of professional players using fused deposition modeling 3D printing, without requiring any modification of existing production infrastructures.

The main objective is to develop a compiler framework and the underlying intermediate representation to simplify the development of optimization passes at the g-code level.

The hired person will collaborate with members of the MimeTIC and MFX teams for their expertise in 3D and 3D printing.

Principales activités

Main activities :

  • Development of the compiler framework
  • Design of the intermediate representation
  • Writting analysis passes to deduce g-code properties
  • Writting the documentation
  • Testing and validation on real 3D printers
  • Complementary activities :

  • Plugin and API interface
  • Integration inside the IceSL slicer
  • 3D printing simulator
  • Compétences

    Technical skills and level required :

  • proficiency in modern C++ language is required
  • knowledge in Lua, CMake, gitlab, continuous integration is a plus
  • understanding compiler infrastructure especially LLVM is a plus
  • knowledge in FDM 3D printing and g-code langage is a plus
  • Languages : English (read, written, spoken)
