This position is located in our Head Office, which makes up 50% of our Middle Market Portfolio. Geographically, this position will serve Paris-Ile de France and Normandy (potentially up to 12 departments), with direct report to the Paris head office.

Job description :

  • Define and execute the commercial strategy for the Middle Market in the Paris / Ile de France area
  • Lead the distribution, define brokers management segmentation
  • Lead Sales actions for Paris -Ile de France and Normandy
  • Regularly report and forecast results to the Middle Market manager
  • Along with the other Middle Market Branch managers, in Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, Nantes and Strasbourg, the BDM Paris plays a key leadership role in driving the business locally.

    Key Responsibilities :

    Broker management

  • Maintain our visibility and increase our market share on this market, develop our GWP together with our profitability.
  • Management of a portfolio of Paris / Ile de France and Normandy based brokers)

  • Maintain our local commercial presence in managing and developing relationship with brokers across all lines of business
  • Definition of budgets by line and by broker for the main brokers : Big3 Cornerstones SGBs
  • Definition of visitation plans for him / herself and for others : SGBs, Brokers to revitalise, new brokers .
  • Ensuring efficiency of broker visits made in the region : preparation work, agreed actions, trip reports, actions follow up .
  • Planning broker entertainment with the France MM Manager and the France Marketing Officer
  • Analysing and monitoring of Sales KPIs by lines of business and by broker, and coming up with actions that maximise our commercial potential
  • Under the responsibility of our MM Manager and in close relation with Line Managers, to promote CHUBB in the Paris-Ile de France and Normandy region,
  • To be well aware of CHUBB underwriting appetite for each line of business in order for brokers to feed CHUBB underwriters with qualified submissions
  • Represent CHUBB during professional shows or events.
  • Sales actions :

  • Sales meeting once a month with all the Regional managers
  • Build / develop a strong relationship / partnership with our main brokers / partners in order to proactively adapt our offer to market needs.
  • Ideas for product enhancement and new product development
  • provide market intelligence, organize regular broker meetings.
  • Develop new contacts in order to enlarge our foot print and reinforce our position on that market.
  • Reporting :

  • Defining budgets along with MM Manager and all business Line manager
  • Monthly reporting to France MM Manager
  • Monthly sales meeting with the head office UW to check their new business pipeline
  • Internal management :

  • Cross work with other CHUBB underwriters and sales on specific package products
  • Influencing other Underwriters, as well as business Lines Managers, with whom he / she is a trusted partner
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in P&C insurance, preferably in commercial lines. Experience of managing brokers appreciated.
