Job Scope & Purpose :
Our growing client is working to develop new gene editing technologies and needs your expertise in cellular and stem cell biology and understanding of off-
target effects to further develop their cutting-edge science. You will be tasked with working with a collaborative team and building and managing the cellular biology and stem cell group of 5-
10 FTEs for this vibrant organization.
Primary Job Responsibilities :
Establish iPSC approaches to support the discovery and characterization of different gene editing therapeutic programs in a variety of indications (e.
g. ophthalmology, hematology, tissue repair)
Lead the establishment of sensitive cell-based assays for the characterization of off-target effects
Establish and maintain the company cell repository and staff responsible for cellular bioprocessing
Work with cross-functional teams on shared projects across the organization and always do what is best for the team and projects
Bring creative solutions to the team with regards to cellular biology issues and solutions
Keep informed on top new developments in stem cell, gene editing, and general biology space related to the companies science and communicate findings
Primary Job Requirements :
A Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Stem Cell Biology 5+ years of experience with stem cell biology.
Experience with gene editing proteins (e.g. CRISPR / Cas9) is ideal as is industrial experience in Biotech or Pharmaceutical settings
Strong track record of publication in academic work
Comfort under the pressures of growing a novel biotech and adapting to the sudden changes which can and will occur
