A vacancy for an AOCS & GNC Study Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Toulouse.
You will join the AOC & GNC & Flight Dynamics department in the Space Systems Engineering organisation.
The study engineer is in charge of AOCS & GNC studies for satellite and space projects in development phase. The projects cover all applicative domains : Earth Observation (e.
g. Pleiades-Néo, CSO, export systems), Science missions (e.g. Juice, Bepicolombo), or telecommunication satellites (e.g. SES Astra, Arabsat, EurostarNeo, OneWeb ).
This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
Tâches et missions principales, responsabilités
Your main tasks and responsibilities will be to conduct AOC & GNC activities for programs in development phase :
Design of AOCS / GNC estimation and control laws, and all associated on-board algorithms : requirements engineering for AOCS functional chain (mission, environment, spacecraft dynamics characteristics, avionic equipments performances), analysis and trade-
offs of control solutions, preliminary performances on functional simulators.
Definition and specification of representative modelling of sensors and actuators, covering functional, performances and dynamics aspects, to be used within the Functional Validation Bench (simulator running AOCS flight software in closed-loop).
Specification of on-board algorithms towards software team, functional validation of the FVB simulator.
Tuning of flight software functional parameters, establishment of detailed functional budgets (pointing, stability, consumption, ).
Validation of functional performances, by intensive validation campaigns on FVB simulator. Definition and support to the execution of reference validation cases used during later development stages, avionics test bench and AIT (Assembly, Integration, Test).
Participation to Launch and Early Operation phases as AOCS specialist, functional. expertise support for in-orbit maintenance operations throughout satellites lifetime.
You will have the following skills and experience :
Educated to engineering degree level (or equivalent) with a specialisation in Space and / or Automatic Control.
Highly skilled in Automatic Control, AOC or GNC, Signal Filtering, modelling and simulation.
Knowledge of Matlab Simulink, real time systems.
A first experience in the domain of Guidance, Navigation and Control systems.
Team spirit, sense of commitment, well organised
Capacity to tackle implementation details in a rigorous and sustained fashion.
Level of negotiation in English and French.
