What will you do?
The primary functional objective of the position is direct contact with customers and channel partners, to initiate and develops relationships, which will ultimately generate sales.
It is through these relationships that we will achieve the best possible sales representation for Thermo Fisher Scientific.
As an Inside Sales Representative, you will be using the telephone and email as your primary tools.
Key responsibilities :
Identify sales opportunities with new and existing customers and successfully manage the sale cycle of Company products and services to achieve or exceed the assigned territory sales plan through an out-bound sales activity, competing within the stated territory and / or named accounts.
Coordinate sales processes for assigned accounts for an assigned geography in accordance with approved sales and marketing plans
Build and maintain relationships by regular telephone, email contact and occasional face to face meetings, with customers and potential customers in an assigned territory to allow product and service information to be communicated and strategic information to be gathered
Utilize all routes to market including channel partners and the e-commerce platform to deliver solutions for the customers.
Participate in sales, product and systems training, marketing campaigns, special projects as presented by the Company to develop appropriate selling skills consistent with Company philosophy, policies, and procedures
Develop and maintain detailed customer / prospect records and ensure that the relevant mailing list and database reflects this information , SFDC
Utilize data sources to analyze and develop sales opportunities with the greatest ROI. Communicate key competitive activities, market trends, and changing customer development plans and priorities, which include emerging customers
Regularly provide written and verbal communication of successes, failures, best practices, to improve the overall operating efficiency of the team, region and sales organization
Communicate account objectives and action plans to management via regular interactive updates, monthly summary reports and other communication vehicles
Coordinate contracts / quotations within Company Guidelines by extending competitive pricing as needed to maintain and increase margin / revenues with guidance from Management and / or marketing
Ensure that all necessary resources needed are used effectively in order to close sales in favour of the Company
Save customer calls and interaction on SFDC will the goal of recording quality information for follow calls and sales to further build relationships and understanding.
Aim for 5 customer facing days per quarter to enhance customer experience and influence the sales process further.
Provide a revenue forecast for the assigned territory and products to the European Inside Sales Manager and Regional Sales Manager
Ensure there is a strong quarterly pipeline of opportunities
Who you are?
Experience / Qualifications / Qualities :
Excellent telephone communication skills
Minimum BSc within Life Sciences (or equivalent)
Some experience from a sales function (preferably Inside Sales) in relevant industry would be very beneficial
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong capabilities to interface effectively with all customer types
Good negotiation skills
Ability to function effectively in a high performance team
Be able to work remotely when required and maintain a high work ethic
Demonstrate a positive attitude and desire to succeed in commercial market
Practical understanding of the sales processes & buying cycle
Exhibits a high degree of flexibility in adapting to a rapidly changing business environment
Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, or similar programs required
Excellent spoke and written English
Flemish speaker would be an advantage
