General Context

In this context, SuperGrid Institute wants to become a leader in power converters architecture and design from 100KW till 2MW and operating at medium frequencies from 1 to 20 KHz, with especially a strong activity in power semiconductors expertize and characterization.

For this purpose, this internship subject is very important because we need to develop and enhance our tests and characterization equipment of our platforms, prove our expertise and knowledge, and offer technical support to our customers.

Objectives / Missions

Our test bench dedicated to the power semiconductor characterization up to 10kV-3kA and called Double-Pulse, is controlled manually.

The main mission is to evolve it by automating sequence of tests in order to save test time.

This test bench is made of :

  • HV Supply control : LabView interface
  • Semiconductor control : MatLab Simulink interface
  • Oscilloscope control and access by remote and web interface.
  • It has been decided to choose LabView as general interface for all parts.

    For this study, stages will be :

  • Understand the current architecture Hardware and Software
  • Analyze the MatLab Simulink control and LabView interface developed during previous traineeships
  • Analyze the Ethernet communication between LabView and Matlab.
  • Propose a software architecture to integrate the sequence of tests to the current program (LabView HMI to MatLab code)
  • Code and test according to scenario and requirements
  • Write a report of study, tests and user guide.
  • Candidate Profile

  • Good skills of MatLab, Simulink and LabView
  • Good knowledge in Electrical and Computing sciences
  • Power Electronic basis
  • English / French
  • Autonomy, relationship skills and reporting will be particularly important and needed.
