The successful candidate will be directly hired by RATP DEV's Egyptian subsidiary in charge of the operation and maintenance of Cairo Metro Line 3.
About the job
The Contract Manager is responsible of the management of all the contract signed with external parties. To that extent, he ensures the proper contractual execution of these contracts.
He puts an emphasis on the main contract with the Customer and is the primary point of contact for this contract.
The Contract Manager will :
Define contracts management strategy for the project and provide strategic advice to the Project Team.
Provide contract clarification and interpretation to the project team to minimize contractual risk and exposure, provide advice to maximize commercial opportunities for the project, and suggest actions accordingly to support the organization business objectives.
Ensure that the project team interprets and executes the terms and conditions of the Contract.
Proactively manage the Contract as well as relevant subcontracts (technical reviews, steering committees, payment, annual contract review).
Prepare and submit extension of time and or costs claims, defense against claims, contract amendments, identification and leverage of contractual opportunities through change request management.
Draft all the contractual correspondences to the customer and to the suppliers with the help of the project team.
Represent the project in meetings and negotiations regarding contractual issues Contract administration of contract archives (baseline, correspondences, claims etc.
securing the project team access to updated contractual information.
Manage outsourced legal counselors when needed.
Liaise with Legal Team regarding any legal reviews / input as required.
Monitor and report contractor performance.
Benefits & how to apply
Master's / Bachelor's Business school degree and / or Law degree with a developed technical awareness or Engineering Degree with a high commercial orientation (Preferred).
Recognized qualification on similar projects.
At least 10 years' relevant experience in the designed professions.
Preferably 3 or more years' relevant experiences in the transport industry.
Strong acumen leadership and team player.
Relevant contract management experience, preferably from the Transport industry (Rail / aircraft) or similar large and long term operation and maintenance projects.
Good knowledge and experience of contracts used in the transportation sector.
The ability to interpret complex contracts and agreements in a risk environment with tight deadlines.
Good understanding of project, schedule and risk management impacts to anticipate forthcoming items requiring particular contract management attention.
A good understanding of the Egyptian legal system would be a plus.
Ability to work independently, as well as being a strong team player within a multidisciplinary and international network with good communications skills, and a structured and systematically working manner.
Good level of English communication skills (verbal and written) is mandatory.
Egyptian Arabic knowledge is a must.
