Position Purpose :

The European Technical Consultant role CC and Bioquell focus is designed to work alongside the sales team and customers at their facilities toto identify the appropriate Bioquell Hydrogen Peroxide vapour (HPV) solutions on site, and potential improvements to manual cleaning and disinfection practices ensure regulatory compliance and improve product quality and identify safety and operational efficiency opportunities.

This service is a key differentiator for Ecolab’s existing and potential customers.

The candidate will be expected to support initial discussions related to large, fixed gassing installations, and projects based around large mobile generator deployments and filling line isolator integrations.

They will also advise on the regulatory requirements and expectations for manual cleaning and disinfection including (but not limited to) application techniques, selection of disinfectants and cleanroom cleaning and disinfection regimes and customer disinfectant efficacy validation (advising on appropriate methodology, customer organisms / surfaces to be tested and experimental design).

They will also provide / facilitate analytical support (i.e. initiating and steering projects where there are gaps identified in our available data) and conduct technical visits and site surveys, and provide support / input on technical enquiries.

The role will also provide guidance to internal and external customers on the processes and products which can support these activities.

They will be required to work cross functionally within Ecolab / Bioquell with a range of departments in both Bioquell and legacy Ecolab including sales, customer service, supply chain, engineering (where utility install required) and RD&E.

The candidate is expected to give Technical sales support to nominated distributers and the global Ecolab / Bioquell field sales team to assist with opportunities at new and existing customers.

The role will also require them to speak at industry events or webinars, (providing training or presenting research), create and support product and sales training content as appropriate and provide technical thought leadership to the marketing team

This role will be based in Europe, but responsibilities include liaising with customers and the sales team and travelling to international customer sites and internal meetings as needed.

Main Responsibilities :

  • Provide technical expertise across a broad base of applications to resolve complex customer problems in cleanrooms and manufacturing applications
  • Conduct customer technical visits and full site surveys, reviewing customer processes and the cleaning / disinfection products in place to ensure they are both compliant and as efficient.
  • Make documented recommendations and supporting any changes

  • Assist the customer in their change control process including technical documentation for SOP’s, Validation, Training
  • Conduct customer-facing seminars and internal training on GMPs, Microbiology, efficacy testing and cleaning and disinfection
  • Interface directly with Corporate Account Managers to ensure deliverables that meet the customer needs. Take part in sales presentations and support
  • Assist in communicating best practices and key learnings to the greater field organization
  • Provide leadership on unique customer projects which are beyond the expected technical ability of Account Managers or Regional Managers
  • Responsible for ensuring brand standards and awareness, accuracy and completion of final reports in a timely manner
  • Provide technical advice, on Bioquell HPV gassing technologies for cleanrooms and other manufacturing applications
  • Conduct customer-facing seminars and internal training on GMPs, isolator technology and validation, efficacy testing and cleaning and disinfection
  • Basic Qualifications / attributes :

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc or equivalent) degree in Life Sciences, preferably in Microbiology
  • Practical knowledge / experience in a regulated Industry such as Nuclear, Aerospace or Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Understand GMP regulation and other regulations / guidelines of Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in microbiology
  • Experience in understanding / troubleshooting of cleanroom operations
  • Demonstrated proficiency with internal or external auditing
  • Ability to travel 50%+ of time within Europe based on customer needs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently and prioritize multiple projects with strong follow-through
  • Flexibility to work on and control different projects at the same time while still meeting set deadlines
  • Fluency in French and English
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree (MSc or equivalent) in Life Sciences, preferably in Microbiology and / or engineering discipline
  • Experience or familiarity with the Life Sciences industry (Pharmaceutical and / or Personal Care)
  • Knowledge / experience of change control processes
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently and prioritize multiple projects with strong follow-through
  • Flexibility to work on and control different projects at the same time while still meeting set deadlines
  • Good knowledge of EN / AOAC disinfectant efficacy standard test methods and mode of action of disinfectants
  • Previous experience in GMP production sites
  • Understanding regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g. MHRA, FDA, HPRA)
