Type of contract and duration : 14-month position


A public establishment belonging to IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom), placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry, IMT Nord Europe has three main objectives : providing our students with ethically responsible engineering practice enabling them to solve 21st century issues, carrying out our R&D activities leading to outstanding innovations and supporting territorial development through innovation and entrepreneurship.

    The position is vacant within the Centre for Energy and Environment, in the research unit working on Atmospheric Sciences.

    Since 2013, it has been involved in the construction of the ACTRIS research infrastructure (RI) (), first as a unit of the European Topical Centre for reactive trace gases in-situ measurements (CiGas) then also as a National Facility for its involvement in the ATOLL (Atmospheric Observations in liLLe) observatory platform.

    ACTRIS is one of the three RI for global observations of the atmosphere together with ICOS () and IAGOS (). IMT Nord Europe participates in the ATMO-ACCESS H2020 project, which aims at providing sustainable access (physical, remote or virtual) to research infrastructures by developing a pilot for a new model of Integrating Activities.


    The Centre for Energy and Environment is looking for a full-time scientific researcher to provide support to Professors Véronique Riffault and Stéphane Sauvage in the process leading to the creation of a Pilot Massive Open On-line Course (MOOC) on European Research Infrastructures for Atmospheric Sciences within the framework of the H2020 ATMO-ACCESS project.

    The recruited person will be expected to :

  • help developing and designing multi-media educational materials for the Pilot MOOC;
  • help coordinating the contributions of the faculty staff involved in the MOOC;
  • help liaising with other contributors to the MOOC, in particular pedagogical engineers and technical staff;
  • participate in the supervision of a group of engineering students working on a Serious Game on the topic of atmospheric data analysis and contribute to finalize it;
  • participate in the writing of articles, reports and of other documents related to the project activities.

  • Curiosity and openness towards creating a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) : filming, developing interactive exercises and quizzes linked to the online classes, etc.
  • Knowledge

  • Solid knowledge of Atmospheric sciences, ideally related to research infrastructures (ACTRIS / EUROCHAMP, ICOS, IAGOS)

    The job is to be filled as to February 1st, 2022 for a period of 14 months (temporary contract).
