Production Manager (M / F)-(2100035O)
For our Plant based in Tournus (Bourgogne) and due to the expansion of a third production line on the site, we are actively looking for a Production Manager.
This position reports directly to the Tournus Site Manager. During the expansion project, the Production Manager will work closely with the design team and project managers to identify operational pitfalls, provide inputs on operability and cost of ownership.
He will be responsible for the start-up and commissioning of the new resin plant. Once the expansion project has been completed, he will assume the role of Operations Manager for the Plant.
In the capacity, he will ensure that production runs according to schedule with no quality and safety impediments and will plan resources to ensure these are optimized and within budget.
Main Tasks :
During Expansion Project
Represents the plant and is a communication focal point between the plant and the project team by :
Supplying expertise on preferred equipment and technical manufacturing data,
Providing information on minimum cost of ownership criteria,
Providing information on known operational difficulties,
Providing applicable process technology data, quality assurance needs, safety requirements specification for SIS, and tie point locations,
Providing Preliminary Commissioning and Start-Up Plans.
Make decisions, in consultation with others about layout, human-machine interface, ergonomics, process-focused design
Accountable for the timely commissioning, start up and commercialisation of the new line
After Project Completion
Assume role of Operations Manager for the new lines,
Accountable and responsible for safety and product quality of the production department,
Accountable for production schedule compliance without compromise to safety, quality and regulatory compliance,
Responsible for identifying resource needs and implement plans to address these gaps with respect to manpower and equipment,
Implement training plans for new hires and cross-training plans for existing staff,
Performing employee performance appraisals and developing improvement plans as pertinent,
Determine manpower and equipment needs with respect to sales demand,
Ascertain capacities and entitlement for each asset,
Spearhead improvement efforts by identifying areas of improvement with respect to quality, productivity and safety by engaging with counterparts within and outside the plant to ensure successful implementation,
Responsible for Production KPIs OTIF, CTS, OTMIS, Distressed batches, Material Efficiency, Opportunities cost and Safety
Responsible for planning budget for production and accountable for meeting budget,
Liaison and participation with Site, Regional and Corporate EHS colleagues, through calls, meetings and implementation of SW Corporate standards
May have responsibility for Permit to work management on site issuing the correct permits to contractors / suppliers.
Ensure efficient EHS communication via EHS / manufacturing Committee Meetings, attendance and sharing information from EHS EMEAI meetings and EHS Alerts from other sites.
Promote safety messaging at the start of every meeting.
Promote a continually improving safety culture through the support
External liaison with regulators, consultants, trade and professional bodies to ensure compliance and capture best practice.
Acts as point of contact for any internal or external audits.
To facilitate process safety processes such as HAZID and HAZOP.
Accountable for the security operation on site. Investigates to root cause any security incidents and ensures timely action completion (remove if this is not relevant).
Chemical / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering background,
5 to 10 years of progressive experience within a manufacturing environment (experience in a chemical plant).
Proven experience in managing and supervising operators and technicians within an operational setting,
Involvement in commissioning and start up of a new facility project,
Must have strong leadership skills, lead by example and uphold high standards of performance for himself / herself and those employees working for him / her,
Must have a passion for safety, quality and customer satisfaction,
French / English,
