We are looking for a Research Scientist to help us define and build the next generation of ML-based audio technologies. Our team expands the state of the art in AI-based machine listening technology, which enables intelligent, efficient, and intuitive ways to search, re-use, explore, or process audio and music.
We build products for end-users, for artists, for producers, for labels and publishers, for managers, for advertisers - projects that cut across all of Spotify.
We build features to improve products and lay the foundations for disruptive new product opportunities.
What you’ll do
You will participate in cutting edge research in ML-based Audio Processing, Music Information Retrieval, and Machine Learning.
You will apply your scientific knowledge to develop and evaluate machine listening methods, combining machine learning, signal processing, probabilistic modeling, and many other fields.
You will run experiments at scale, having access to a catalog of 60M+ songs, 299M+ monthly active users, and making use of Spotify’s computing infrastructure.
You will work on practical applications enabling users and internal teams to search, re-use, explore and process audio and music in novel ways.
You will be a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional team working in collaboration with other scientists, engineers, product managers, designers, user researchers, and analysts across Spotify to design creative solutions to challenging problems.
You will have direct impact on Spotify’s products, tools, and services, working on projects that cut across the entire organization.
External engagement such as publishing, giving talks, and attending top conferences is encouraged.
