About the Role
The Talent Engagement & Inclusion Director of Learning & Development reports into and supports the Chief Diversity Officer and has a direct hand in activating our TEI learning programming in the US market, while keeping employee experience and strategic impact at the forefront.
They will work closely with Talent and Learning & Organizational Development (L&OD) leaders on efforts and programs focused on the retention and development of talent for PGUS.
The TEI Director of Learning & Development is responsible for two critical areas of delivery for the Publicis Groupe US DEI strategy :
1. Delivery of professional development programming to communities that have been historically excluded
2. Development of a DEI learning journey for all PGUS talent and implementation of a DEI competency in the performance management process
The TEI Director of Learning & Development ensures we are actively forging connections to our talent at all levels within our brands.
In their day-to-day, they design best-in-class DEI educational programming to meet employees where they are on their DEI journeys, develop partnerships internally with DEI and L&OD leaders and externally with industry thought leaders and practitioners.
They will develop best practices for how DEI educational programs and events should be delivered across the organization and act as a thought leader for the strategic direction of the DEI practice.
The TEI Director of Learning & Development will be responsible for :
PGUS DEI Learning Strategy Development & Process Creation
Support the Chief Diversity Officer with thought leadership for DEI educational programming including direct management of the supporting activities, budgets, governance, partnerships, resources, and systems
Design a DEI learning journey for all PGUS talent and implement a DEI competency in the performance management system
Evolve the Strategy for a DEI Competency at a PGUS Level including : Mandatory Disrupting Everyday Bias e-learning seriesInclusive Learning at all levels
Develop a DEI learning path and courses for new hire onboarding
Develop curated DEI learning paths based on topics, crafts & challenges
Partner with internal stakeholders like Marcel Classes & Brand L&OD leaders to deliver professional development programming to communities that have been historically excluded
Strategic Oversight & Management of Existing PGUS DEI Learning Programs
Oversee and evolve the strategy for professional development training for historically excluded communities including the Black Talent Career Development Program
Expand and deliver the Black Talent Career Development program for additional communities
Curate or create educational assets to support DEI educational programming
Development of processes and management of tools and systems that support educational programming (ex : Marcel Classes, MentorcliQ, etc.)
Work independently and collaborate with the broader TEI team to ensure DEI strategy alignment
Build collaborative relationships with Talent, DEI and L&OD leaders and subject matter experts in order to ensure programming is aligned to perimeter and brand strategies
Act as the TEI point of contact for Marcel platform and Marcel Classes team for any effort at the intersection of DEI, Marcel and Learning
Manage Key DEI Learning & Development External Partnerships
Audit & Optimize Existing PGUS DEI Programming
Audit and map existing DEI learning programs and courses and identify gaps and opportunities in order to develop a DEI learning collaboration approach with PGUS Perimeters and Brands
Audit existing professional development programming for historically excluded communities across the Groupe in the US in order to identify gaps and opportunities
Pausing for Action Program Continuity & Sustained Deployment
Inclusive Leadership & Teams optimizations
Disrupting Everyday Bias expansion
Black Talent Career Development optimizations including launching : Black Talent Mentoring ProgramBlack Talent Sponsorship Program
DEI Learning Process Improvements
Centralized / Distributed delivery of Live DEI learning
Train the trainer opportunities for "I am Remarkable" (Google), Brave Space facilitation, IDI debriefs
DEI Learning Content review process
DEI learning content from brands and other markets that could potentially be leveraged after a review / revision cycle
Qualifications
6+ years DEI experience
10+ years learning and development experience
Significant depth of experience in Instructional Design, Technical Writing, Education or equivalent work experience
Expert understanding of learning and development processes and methodologies
Demonstrates a passion and curiosity for talent engagement, diversity, equity and inclusion best practices
Ability to design and develop DEI educational programming and achieve results through partnership and collaboration
Ability to respect, protect and maintain highly confidential and sensitive information with high discretion.
Understanding of the advertising / marketing / media agency ecosystem and an understanding of the talent who supports these entities is a plus
Foster relationships and collaboration with key internal stakeholders & communities to understand workforce needs
Proven experience working in a complex, matrixed environment, managing multiple stakeholders
Flexibility in shifting focus in a fast-paced environment with continually changing priorities and have the ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, detailed tasks
Ability to interact, manage and influence key stakeholders including executive team member
Working knowledge of MS Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel & Word
Strong critical thinking / problem solving skills
Experience working in a corporate or professional services environment
Have an effective written and verbal communication skillset
Be able to work collaboratively, proactively and be productive in a cross-functional & remote / virtual team environment
Be open to giving and receiving feedback in order to positively affect outcomes for our team and talent
Be open to differences in thought and perspective
Coaching or related certifications a plus
