Job Overview and Responsibilities
Formulations cover the development of commercial products characterized by their specifications and use value. Corresponding lab work requires several steps (mixing, experimental process, tests, .
Formulation data - including composition data (ingredients, quantities) and properties measurements - exhibit characteristics such as sparsity and design space complexity.
The candidate will investigate and implement methods and algorithms to :
Build, engineer and manage formulations datasets
Analyze data, provide insights and interact with domain and business experts
Compute formulations similarity, predict properties values and recommend experiments
Synthesize and present results to internal collaborators and customers.
Education and Experience
Final year of MSc / Engineer or PhD student in Data Science, Cheminformatics or Computational Chemistry
Conceptual and applied knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms and tools (Scikit-Learn, Tensorflow)
Excellent programming skills (R, Python)
Experience with visualisations tools (Qlik, Data Studio, Tableau) and building web applications (Bokeh, R-Shiny, Plotly)
Plus : Statistics, Design Of Experiments (DOE), Cheminformatics and knowledge of chemical libraries (ChEMBL, DrugBank, PubChem), Cloud DS platforms (GCP, Dataiku)
Soft skills : proactivity, self-motivation, autonomy, adaptability, user-centricity, collaborative mindset, team spirit, communication skills, ability to think 80 / 20 and combine research / industrial mindsets, interest in using data to derive actionable insights
