We are currently seeking for a Project, Portfolio and Planning Manager EAME ,

to drive efficiency in operations through appropriate project selection, prioritization and project management in the regional breeding pipeline and select strategic initiatives.

In other words, the Regional Project, Planning and Portfolio Lead is a versatile and highly skilled strategic partner, providing valuable insight to support investment decisions and value creation in the assigned region.

He promotes clarity, transparency and alignment across all projects and all crops in the assigned region.

In this role, you will lead a team of professionals who work to ensure strong and effective portfolio planning, project management, and portfolio management for regional breeding programs and strategic initiatives.

A critical component of this role is to bring transparency to the breeding programs while enabling fact-based decision making by the regional leadership team.

This role will be critically important in driving efficiency in Seeds Development by ensuring optimal resource allocation across projects and initiatives in the portfolio.

You will partner with business and functional units to ensure projects in the portfolio are aligned and prioritized in accordance with the regional business strategy and growth plans.

Your main accountabilities in further detail :

  • Conduct portfolio and scenario analyses required to enable data driven decision making by regional and global leadership teams.
  • Communicate linkages between the R&D portfolio and the Seeds Strategy, keeping the purpose of portfolio at the forefront of regional teams.
  • Ensure alignment of the regional portfolio with functional capabilities, capacity, and business needs.
  • Drive portfolio level decision-making in the region, ensuring the right projects are selected and prioritized with the level of resourcing required to deliver the pipeline.
  • Monitor the portfolio to ensure business value is realized or on track to be realized; includes association of KPIs to portfolio performance and risk and tracking progress against budget and productivity targets using standardized metrics.
  • Implement strong project management capabilities in the region, ensuring the projects are delivered according to schedule and budget with an appropriate level of risk.
  • Drive effective collaboration between global and regional stakeholders while seeking continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Drive standardization in ways of working throughout assigned region.
  • Align management of projects and initiatives in region with global portfolio management practices and reporting requirements.
  • Provide oversight of ongoing projects and strategic initiatives in the region, facilitate regular reporting of progress and outcomes, prepare scenario and sensitivity analyses, and make recommendations for presentation to leadership.
  • Liaise with Seeds R&D functional partners, business partners and Global Portfolio management team.
  • Ensure a reporting to Head, Regional Field Crops Seeds Development.
