Assistant Public Manager We’re hiring an Assistant Public Manager to serve out of Denver within our Greenwood Village-based Public Management Services practice for special districts along the Front Range.

The Assistant Public Manager is an experienced public administrator who works in an assistant capacity to an engagement director / manager / principal in providing services to special districts or other municipalities.

S / he may also provide the lead relationship in small districts as determined appropriate. S / he assists in the public management of special districts or municipal entities.

S / he is accountable for day-to-day operations of special districts, public administration, public policy, and special district compliance.

Work Activities & Accountabilities : The below functions reflect the general details of the essential work activities and accountabilities of this position and are not all inclusive.

Other activities may be assigned. Public Administration : Works with management team on special districts and local entities to provide day to day operational services.

Completes projects as assigned, assists in preparing board packets and communications, helps to track documents and direct vendor relationships.

Understands Colorado statutes governing local governments and title 32 special districts, governmental budgets, public records, public hearings, public notices, governmental purchasing practices, policy formation, and tax structure.

Works with public infrastructure planning, financing, construction and maintenance alternatives. Special District Elections Management : Assists in the conduct of elections as needed.

Special District Compliance : Understands statutory compliance issues pertaining to special districts and municipalities, required filings with DOLA and other agencies.

Assists the management team with completing statutory compliance matters, and tracking the calendar for same. Has knowledge of Colorado statutes.

Client Service : Responsible for providing superior client service in both a support role to the management team and directly with clients as assigned.

Skills and Attributes : Ability to work with many managers and clients, and multi task. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills.

Ability to effectively work within a team environment. Technical Competencies : Proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products.

Education / Experience Requirements : Minimum three years of experience in city or county management, public works, land development, construction management or related field(s).

Experience in a consulting environment desired. BS / BA degree in public administration, business administration, urban and regional planning, construction management or related degree required.
