Our client is seeking an Associate Director in e-Discovery for their Paris office to manage client relationships, consult with clients and lead the e-
discovery team members to define and execute projects. Responsibilities include managing and leading the delivery of collections, data analysis, data tracking, processing, review and document production strategy on large, complex matters.
As a member of the e-discovery team, the Associate Director will engage with Associates and Senior Associates to provide support and guidance to the team and clients.
This position supports the project management team in the execution and delivery of all aspects of a project through completion.
Project management experience in the legal or e-discovery industries, including interacting with external clients via email, phone and in-
person and the ability to manage multiple clients and projects, prioritize and carry out multiple tasks to meet deadlines is required.
Knowledge of and experience working in Relativity is essential and an RCA or other Relativity certification is preferred.

As an Associate Director or Manager, independent judgment and discretion need to be applied to all aspects of service delivery staffing, resource management, internal and external escalations, managing client expectations, managing up (working with senior management) and managing down (mentoring and guiding junior members to success), and being as involved in projects as necessary to ensure successful delivery.
Successful candidates will work in a collaborative manner with internal resources, lead client communications, and demonstrate effective project management skills including coordination, documentation and execution.
Essential Functions and Required Characteristics
Serves as the client lead focused on consulting with clients, anticipating client needs and ensuring the team delivers the desired outcome for all stakeholders
Serves as a point of escalation and knowledge for members of the e-discovery team and the clients
Demonstrates subject matter expertise and practical application across all aspects EDRM, database design and management, data processing activities, project management, legal document review requirements, data movement restrictions, evidence handling, and data privacy
Ensures client satisfaction through effective coordination and communication with the client
Engages the client and in proactive communications regarding all aspects of the project and when client issues arise, addresses those issues or expeditiously escalates internally
Prepares and / or works with other members of the team to maintain all appropriate project documentation, meet and document all project requirements (scope, deadlines, status reporting, project communications, client decisions, etc.)
Demonstrates leadership to both the client and internal partners, delivering project objectives professionally and error-free
Works at the direction of and in collaboration with the senior members of the team in order to complete project tasks as defined by the client and / or senior members
Provides project reporting and summaries, performs analysis of reporting, tracks client requests to completion, prepares communication logs, tracks project budget, and performs statistical reporting on client data
Uses all internal tools and applications to direct project work requests
Performs tasks in Relativity as needed
Communicates clearly, effectively and in a timely fashion with clients and internal stakeholders
Develops project plans
Balances workloads with internal and external requests
Supervises, mentors and coaches members of the team, and delegates tasks appropriately
Demonstrates willingness to support clients and team members which may necessitate availability in early mornings, evenings and weekends, as needed
Manages multiple simultaneous projects and clients
Handles additional special projects as assigned
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Extensive relevant legal or industry experience is required
Degree or equivalent qualification required
Knowledge of and experience working in Relativity is essential; RCA or other Relativity certification preferred
Technical aptitude and financial acuity
Project management experience in the legal or e-discovery industries, including interacting with external clients via email, phone and in-person
Ability to manage multiple clients and projects, prioritize and carry out multiple tasks to meet deadlines; must have previous experience of following complex / detailed processes
Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with individuals at all levels
Use of strong independent judgment and decision-making skills to effectively and efficiently manage clients, projects, expectations and deliverables
Ability to work autonomously, take direction, and to be effective within a team environment
Possesses interpersonal skills to contribute to the building of relationships with clients and team members
Fluent French and English speaker
Willing to travel within Europe (some international)
