AMETEK PDS is seeking a highly strategic Sales Manager with a proven track record of success to join our business unit. This individual will join a global, multi-site business unit that designs and manufactures highly engineered aerospace electronic and mechanical systems for aerospace and commercial applications.
The sales organization consists of regional sales managers and representatives. This position will report to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing.
Candidates for this position will have the ability to work from home and must be willing to travel at least 50% of the time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Develop a five year sales plan
Develop win strategies for new business pursuits
Develop strategic customer accounts and cultivate new business opportunities
Identify new products and adjacent market opportunities
Perform tactical functions : prepare multiyear quote proposals, manage sales / engineering / customer interface, establish pricing, perform negotiations, manage customers and perform marketing analysis
Manage relations with outside reps and intercompany AMETEK sales team
Communicate Business Unit goals, objectives and feedback to Divisional Key Accounts
Ensure that Sales Channel supports new product development goals of engineering and the growth objectives of the business
Establishes and maintains key customer relations and ties to new development programs
Support financial reporting including forecasting, budgets, and quarterly reporting requirements
Direct reports : Representative organization where needed
MINIMUM : Technical / Business Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
DESIRABLE : BSEE, BSME, or MBA
5+ years of sales or engineering experience within the aerospace industry required.
15+ years experience in the aerospace industry
Knowledge and understanding of AC / DC Motors and Electrical / Mechanical Actuators. Aircraft electrical systems experience is strongly preferred
Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
Other Requirements :
Prior experience interfacing with Design Engineers
Strategic thinking, planning and implementation skills
Home Office based
50% of the Sales Managers time will be spent at customers, AMETEK locations and supporting sales meetings
