Job Description

A vacancy for a Head Of Airbus Support Centre A400M (m / f) has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Orléans (Paris area).

As the successful candidate you will join the Airbus Support Centre France department

Airbus Defence and Space has been contracted by the French Ministry of Defence to support the A400M fleet on its main operating base (MOB) and in the French A400M MRO SIAé in Clermont-Ferrand.

The services contracted include technical support, material support, support of mission preparation systems & IT networks, and on-AC maintenance support by working parties.

In that order, an Airbus Services Centre has been set-up on the A400M main operating base in Orléans with an extensiont in Clermont-Ferrand

You will report hierarchically to the HO the A400M Airbus DS Services Centers in France.

Your main role will be to :

  • Ensure that the A400M In-Service Support (ISS) contractual performance commitments are met, locally on Main Operating Base in Orléans, in deployments off-MOB and in SIAé.
  • Through concrete and successful actions, promote ADS image within FR MOD and develop a teamwork relationship at all levels on MOB with FAF
  • Contribute to reaching the level of profitability set for this contract.
  • Your decision and Leadership authority will be to :

  • Manage a station of 100 persons currently supporting 16 A400M, ramping up to 24 in next 5 years
  • Ensure cohesion between all team members, whether belonging to Airbus Defence & Space SAS, to Airbus Defence & Space COCs, or to sub-contractors.
  • Assign resources and personnel according to priority and individual skills. Set specific goals and perform annual interviews of team members.
  • Manage commitments and outputs of subcontractors on-MOB with COCs and Procurement
  • This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.

    Your main tasks and responsibilities will include :

  • Integrate all A400M ISS activities (In Service Support) on-MOB and off-MOB : Operational Support, Material Support, Technical Support, Ground Support Devices and Maintenance Support
  • Maintain proper communication with all Airbus Defence & Space SPM (Service Program Management) and COC (Center of Competence) departments
  • Represent Airbus Defence & Space in front of FR, mainly on MOB at Squadron level and occasionally in front of FR support HQs for the support of the A400M fleet
  • Ensure that the performance delivery to FAF / SIAé complies with ISS contractual obligations, and especially : Work closely with A400M Services Program to establish necessary priorities and objectives with FR and internallyIdentify and solve all local support issues while they are small and not emotionally loaded.
  • Ensure that all requests to / by FR are properly addressed and reflect the real needs.Trigger all Centres of Competences inside Airbus Defence & Space to improve performance and profitability of A400M support contract for France

  • Monitor the appropriate tracking of all services delivery KPIs, ensure alignment of Airbus DS view and FAF view in reports regarding accountabilities for delays.
  • Support contract reviews and performance assessment, issue periodic reports for internal and external purpose
  • Provide assistance to A400M fleet from all other nations according to arrangements set by such nations with Airbus Defence & Space
  • Provide return on experience for use in all departments of Airbus Defence & Space
  • Propose and implement, when under his scope of responsibilities, any improvement increasing overall customer satisfaction and profitability (whether internal or on customer side)
  • You will have the following skills and experience :

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in managing Part 145 / Part M teams and MRO organizations.
  • Strong background in services integration (Maintenance, Logistics, Engineering).
  • Knowledge of French Air Force ways of working would be a benefit without being mandatory.
  • Highly motivated by customer support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good personal presentation.
  • Ability to work alone and organize yourself in a challenging environment.
  • Negotiation level of French mandatory
  • Advanced level of English
