Our growing Technology and Design team plays a key role in ensuring OS is at the cutting edge of geospatial capability and is looking for people to join them.

ESRI Arc’ tools, Databricks, React, Java, JavaScript, Python, C#, Scala, Microsoft Azure Cloud Services, Microsoft Azure DevOps, TensorFlow, Terraform, Powershell, Unix, FME, SQL, GitFlow, Open Source Technologies, Microsoft Dynamics, Pycharm, Specflow

What the training programme involves

  • Joining a dedicated professional Engineering team, you will embark on a 12-month training programme as part of an agile development team;
  • working closely with a technical mentor, who will help you to develop the business and technological knowledge and skills required to flourish within the business.

    What you’ll get from the programme

    By the end of the training programme, you should be able to demonstrate good knowledge of :

  • Agile software development, DevOps and testing technologies
  • Software engineering, testing, DevOps, security, infrastructure and geospatial engineering
  • Programming languages and tools assigned to your core area
  • Upon successful completion of the training programme, you will be offered a permanent contract in a relevant Engineering role.

    Example roles include :

    Associate Engineer, Software Engineer, Test Analyst, Test Engineer, Support Engineer

    What we’re looking for

    Applicants are not expected to have all the technical and business skills needed to start; we understand that knowledge is grown over time.

  • IT experience using tools, technologies, methodologies or best practice for developing, testing, or supporting systems or software

    This role will be based at our state-of-the-art Headquarters in Southampton. However, all our people, where they can are currently working from home.

  • We also recognise that Ordnance Survey’s ambition to continue attracting and retaining the most talented individuals means providing flexibility where possible, which is why we’re keen to hear from suitable open to hybrid working;
  • where there will be a split between home and office working.
