Enedis is a subsidiary of EDF Group (Electricité de France). Enedis is a public service company, manager of the electricity distribution network.
It develops, uses, modernizes the network, and manages the data collected. Independent from the energy suppliers and electricity trading, its 38 000 collaborators ensure, everyday, customers' junctions, 24 / 7 maintenance and repairing, data collection on meters, and every other technical interventions.

In March 2019, Enedis was named coordinator and participant for the project IElectrix - Indian and European Local Energy CommuniTies for Renewable Integration and the Energy Transition.
This project is co-funded under EU Horizon 2020 and is gathering a consortium with 15 European partners and Tata Power from Delhi.
The project shall see 4 demonstration sites to be implemented; one of these 4 being the 1MW demonstration plant in Delhi directed by Enedis.
Delhi demonstration site project - also called Work Package 9 - gathers different actors from several countries : Enedis (France), Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (India), Schneider Electric (France & Spain), Odit-e (France) and Geco-Global (Finland).
This smart micro-grid project aims at monitoring and speeding up the grid integration of renewable energies, and monitor the energy consumption.
IElectrix will help to demonstrate the combined roles of innovative functionalities for LV and MV networks in different countries, with the help of innovative products and solution providers.
