This is a key position within the Global Procurement & Utilities division of LyondellBasell with high visibility across LyondellBasell’s EU divisions and organizations.
Our manufacturing sites all depend on energy, from steam to electricity, as well as on industrial gases and water. As a Category Manager at LyondellBasell you focus on a portfolio of manufacturing sites in Europe ensuring the development, deployment and management of the procurement strategies for utilities (eg steam, natural gas, electricity) required to support company operations.
Position holder takes a lead in the company’s long-term energy transition activities in Europe including procurement of renewables and CO2 abatement initiatives.
You understand the European utility markets as well as the regional laws and regulations, and are actively involved in branch organizations and industry partnerships related to carbon abating initiatives.
In your role you provide strategic guidance and recommendations to the current utility supply contracts and assess them against the company’s sustainability goals.
You manage effective internal client and supplier relationships up to the senior level and are able to convincingly influence decision makers and stakeholders.
